Jennifer W: Anna and Froga looks really cute – I’d love to get a look at that.
Big Nate: Here Goes Nothing (Harper Collins, 9780062086969)
Jennifer W: More Big Nate, I must go forth and buy! Big Nate and Rick Riordan were my two top asked-for series this summer.
Chew Volume 7: Bad Apples (Image, 9781607067672)
Jenny: I must get caught up on the equal-parts-funny-and-icky Chew!
Ikigami; the Ultimate Limit Volume 9 (Viz, 9781421553078)
Jenny: Â Ikigami’s a dark, dystopic look at society as well as a thought-provoking examination of what we do with the little time we have left. Â Every volume makes me cry over the choices people make–or that are made for them. Â And I’m waiting as patiently as I can for the protagonist’s gradually eroding faith in the system to push him to act.
Allen: I haven’t read past the first volume, but I really liked Ikigami. Not just because of the dystopian Battle Royale-like world, but because it offers some really poignant moments from those who are told they are going to die. It’s bad enough to be told that you’re scheduled to die, but to be the one who has to deliver that message? Yeesh.
Power Rangers Megaforce Volume 3: Panic in the Parade (Papercutz, 9781597073516)
Jennifer W: I just got a review copy of Power Rangers – not something I’d read for pleasure, but the kids are gulping them down, so I will definitely buy it.
Tsuritama – Complete Collection (Sentai)
Jenny: Tsuritama is a fun, strange, colorful little series about a gang of oddball kids and a potential alien or two in a small fishing community.
Willow: Wonderland (Dark Horse, 9781616551452)
Michael: Willow:Wonderland is one of the better Buffy comics I’ve read. It finishes Willow’s arc in a clean and satisfying way. I highly recommend it to all Buffy fans.
