Highlights from the past week, with commentary from the NFNT gang:
Alice in the Country of Clover: Knight’s Knowledge Volume 1 (Seven Seas Entertainment, 9781626920576)
Renata: My library teens are crazy for Alice in the Country of Clover, so I’ll be ordering that.
Comics Squad: Recess (Random House Books for Young Readers, 9780385370035)
Jessikah: Comics Squad: Recess looks great. Â I’ll bet the kids at my library will eat it up.
Jennifer W: I just got Comics Squad in and was UTTERLY THRILLED to realize that it has a brand new story by Ursula Vernon!! Woo! All the other creators are awesome too – the kids are going to love this anthology.

In Clothes Called Fat (Vertical, 9781939130433)
Tessa: I hadn’t heard of In Clothes Called Fat but it looks intriguing. And the cover is a girl holding a hoagie with a crazed look on her face, so that is promising.
The Sakai Project: 30 Years of Usagi Yojimbo (Dark Horse, 9781616555566)
Andrew S: I love Usagi and Stan’s linework and it thrills me that other artists are honoring Stan and that proceeds will go to he and his wife to help with medical expenses.
Shadow Hero (First Second, 9781596436978)
Andrew S: This is a fantastic story and I love that Gene and Sonny revived a character that is supposed to be the first ever Asian superhero. It’s nice to see a superhero that brings a different perspective to things and who better to write it than Gene Yang?
Anna: Lots of good stuff coming out right now, but I’m definitely most excited about Shadow Hero. I’ve loved just about everything Yang’s ever done and the previews for this piece look fantastic!
Snow: Shadow Hero is wonderful! I think it might be my favorite from both creators.
Through the Woods (Margaret K McElderry Books, 9781442465954)
Tessa: Through The Woods is in transit to my library branch for pickup and I’m SO EXCITED. Emily Carroll is a fantastic horror wizard.
Gail: I’m especially looking forward to Through the Woods.
Wolverine Book 1: Three Months to Die (Marvel, 9780785154198)
Renata: I’m personally excited for Wolverine: Three Months to Die. I know it’s not, like, cool for Wolverine to be your favorite X-Man, but I can’t help but love him and all his manly Canadian angst. I know the deaths of superheros are rarely permanent, but I’m still invested in the death of Wolverine.
