Highlights from the past week, with commentary from the NFNT gang:
Avatar: the Last Airbender Volume 7: The Rift Part 1 (Dark Horse, 9781616552954)
Jessikah: I am looking forward to the next installment of the Avatar series, The Rift. Supposedly it focuses more on Toph, and how can that be a bad thing?

The Dumbest Idea Ever! (Scholastic, 9780545453479)
Eva: I’m excited for the new Jimmy Gownley book, Dumbest Idea Ever. His Amelia Rules series is really delightful, so I’m interested to see what he can do when the story is about himself.
Eve Source (Dark Horse, 9781616552718)
Allen: If Eve Source is what I think it is, then I definitely want to read it. Based on the incredibly dense but super popular MMO EVE Online, the graphic novels are based on real player stories (events of sabatoge, espionage and good old fashion grudges conducted by human players, not AI or NPCs). Very awesome stuff!!
The Galaxy Railways – the Complete Series (Funimation)
Nadia: the Secret of Blue Water – Complete Collection (Sentai)
Jessikah: I am happy to see The Galaxy Railways is being released, but even more happy to see Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water coming out of retirement. This is a good child friendly series! It is also a brainchild of both Hayao Miyazaki, and was directed by Hideaki Anno. Very cool stuff.
Oz: the Emerald City of Oz (Marvel, 9780785183884)
Jessikah: Also, the kids at my library really love Marvel’s OZ comics. I’m sure The Emerald City of Oz will be popular at my library.
Eva: Jessikah already mentioned Emerald City of Oz, so I’ll just second that.
Phantom Thief Jeanne Volume 1 (Viz, 9781421565903)
Eva: I read some of the series back when it was published by CMX and liked it as much as I like any magical girl series (which is to say, my interest fades quickly). With a new translation and a new editor, I’m curious to see how my mileage varies.
Pogo: the Complete Dell Comics Volume 1 (Hermes Press, 9781613450543)
Andrew S: Although I haven’t read it, the Pogo Dell Comic book collection, is going to make one of my professors very, very happy as he wrote his dissertation on Pogo and Walt Kelly!
Therma Romae Volume 3 (Yen Press, 9780316369114)
Jenny: I just got my personal copy of Thermae Romae III today and I think I actually steepled my fingers when I pulled it out of the delivery envelope. I haven’t even read it yet and I’m already cackling.
