Romeo and Juliet (Candlewick Press, 9780763668075)
Jennifer W: Cool, a new adaptation from Gareth Hinds. His stuff gets stolen sometimes, so you know it’s good!
Sixth Gun Volume 5 (Oni Press, 9781620100776)
Jennifer W: I think I got behind on reading Sixth Gun – will have to remind my director to buy the next couple volumes. I’ve got several middle school boys who read all the Marvel Zombies and moved on to this and really like it.
The Unwritten: Tommy Taylor and the Ship that Sank Twice (DC Comics/Vertigo, 9781401229764)
Abby: I’m really excited to see a new Unwritten. I’ve only recently started reading this series, but I’m hooked. It’s like Christopher Robin plus some Harry Potter, only violent and a little scary. And literary references get me every time.
Gail: I agree with the excitement although I have been reading the series since issue one. I am a huge fan and love the crossover with Fables too.
Jenny: I’m loving Unwritten for all the same reasons, Abby. 🙂 When I was looking to see how this one fit in the chronology, it looks like it’s a prequel / parallel in the form of a Tommy Taylor adventure from the story-within-the-story. Yay for meta-fiction!
Michael: Unwritten is by far and away my favorite non superhero comic. Everyone who even remotely likes literature or fantasy should read it.
