Batgirl/Robin Year One (DC Comics, 9781401240332)
Robin: I’m SUPER-EXCITED to see the re-release of Batgirl/Robin Year One, because Batgirl: Year One has been one of my favorite origin story stand alones for years, and it’s been too long out of print. The art by Marcos Martin and Alvaro Lopez is so amazeballs. It’s my go-to introduction to superheroines for teens. And it doesn’t hurt that Babs grew up to be a librarian. 🙂
Children of the Sea Volume 5 (Viz, 9781421538488)
Jenny: I’ve only read the first volume of Children of the Sea but thought it was pleasantly odd and thoughtful and mean to get back to it before too long. Also, I just re-read Sailor Twain for a discussion program, so I have aquatic mysteriousness on my mind.
Game of Thrones Volume 2 (Bantam/Spectra, 9780440423225)
Robin: I’ve been curious about how the Game of Thrones graphic novel adaptations are doing — do folks have them? How are they circulating?
Primates: the Fearless Science of Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Birute Galdikas (First Second, 9781596438651)
Snow: I can’t wait to read Primates, because I love Maris Wicks’ art.
Caitlin: I can’t wait to read it because I love the great apes!
Saga Volume 2 (Image Comics, 9781607066927)
Jenny: I’m stoked for the second trade paperback for Saga!
Robin: I’m also happy to have more Saga to add to my shelf. 🙂 Our first volume is almost never on the shelf, and I know my readers will be happy for more.
Sweet Tooth Volume 6: Wild Game (DC Comics/Vertigo, 9781401240295)
Jenny: I’m ready for Sweet Tooth 6 and hope the gang can regroup, everyone’s as ok as they can be, and we finally figure out what the heck’s goin’ on!
