Highlights from the past week, with commentary from the NFNT gang:
Alice in the Country of Joker: Circus and Liar’s Game Volume 5 (Seven Seas Entertainment, 9781626920552)
Renata: Oh man, I missed all of Alice in the Country of Joker. I’ll have to order those–I know the other Alice books in that series have been super popular with my teens here.
Arata: the Legend Volume 18 (Viz, 9781421565057)
Jenny: I want to see if Arata: The Legend improves now that Yuu Watase has gotten a new editor (the former one having been both a terrible editor and an abusive human being). I’ll have to find out which chapter marks her return to freedom and see if she can pull the story out of the mess she was forced to create.
Jessikah: Oh, yeah. Arata: the Legend, lost me a while ago.
Baltimore Volume 4: Chapel of Bones (Dark Horse, 9781616553289)
Elizabeth: IÂ really enjoy the Baltimore series and am excited for another hardcover edition. It’s doing well with my patrons too.
Godland Volume 6: Goodbye Divine (Image, 9781607066200)
Garrett: Holy Cosmic! Godland vol 6! I had given up hope that anything else would be collected. Godland is one of my favorites!
Maoyu (Sentai)
Jessikah: I’m curious about Maoyu, since it’s connected to the people responsible for the series Spice and Wolf.
Night of the Living Deadpool (Marvel, 9780785190172)
Jessikah: Night of the Living Deadpool looks hilarious, even if I am beyond tired of the Zombie Apocolypse Meme.
Renata: I’m sure Night of the Living Deadpool will be a hit with my teens here–zombies + Deadpool = win!
Showa: A History of Japan Volume 2 (Drawn & Quarterly)
Jenny: I want to check out Shigeru Mizuki’s Showa: A History of Japan (both volumes so far).
