Here’s our staff highlights for this week — all the titles, creators, programs, conferences, and library shenanigans that made our week, comics-wise!
I adored the amazing group of cosplayers who both presented the world with the Avengers (and assorted characters) both genderswapped and in the style of 1940s pin-ups (via The Mary Sue). I think Coulson might be my favorite, but they are all fantastic. Check out the full set of photos by Justin Davidson over here. Anyone wanna do this with me at Boston Comic-Con this summer? Yes? Please? -Robin
And, my happy of the week (or really the whole month of April) is the Batman Eternal series. I was happy enough knowing that I could satisfy my Batman obsession once a month with Scott & Greg's run on the series. But, during the month of April I can get Batman every week! -Traci
CLAMP: Legal Drug
I'm happy Dark Horse has licensed CLAMP's on-hiatus Legal Drug manga series along with its sequel Drug Drop (via Anime News Network.) I know I'll be frustrated by the lack of conclusions, but I can't help it. They're just so pretty! -Jenny
Personal happy: my presentations to educators and librarians as well as high school students went very well last week, so much so that I may be doing a return engagement in the near future. Happy, too, that I can now focus on the recent Golem graphic novels for my presentation in Prague, especially Breath of Bones.
Disney at Hogwarts
My happy is a silly one. My boss and my coworkers and I got into an involved discussion of which Hogwarts house the characters of the Marvel Universe would be sorted into. We were partially inspired by the sorting of Disney princesses (via The Mary Sue) by artist eira1893. (Snow White is a Hufflepuff! Where my fellow Puffs at?) I am happy to be working in such a thoroughly nerdy library. -Snow
Hogwarts as 1980s Anime
Speaking of Hogwarts...a 1980s Anime reimagining. -Allen
